Blog # 1 SPRING FEVER

There seems to be an outbreak of Spring Fever in the Collins house. We are tired of all of the snow but not really looking forward to the process of getting rid of it either. The melting of the snow brings dirt, slush, and flooding in the Fargo-Moorhead area. The National Weather Service predicted a 25 percent chance of a flood similar to last year's 40.84 crest. Other sources predict a much higher chance of flooding. It depends a lot on if we have a slow or fast melt. Sandbagging starts Monday as Fargo needs to stockpile at least one million sandbags to be stored until needed.

LeRoy and I are looking forward to getting into biking again. Having sold our old bikes at our garage sale last fall, we needed to purchase new ones. LeRoy is patiently awaiting the arrival of the recumbent bike he has ordered. He will pick it up later today. I was lucky to find a used (like new) bike that had been customized for a short lady. Perfect, huh?

Christie is getting back to work again after the Country Club was closed for a week and a half. She didn't mind being off for a few days but it's hard on the checking account. She's looking forward to a milestone birthday on April 30. She turns the big 21! Hard to believe. She's already warned us, Mom and Dad are NOT invited to her birthday party.

Missy and Jasmine are busy shedding hair, sleeping, and shedding more hair all over the house. You'd think animals would go bald when they lose so much hair. They always seem to have plenty more though. Both turn 11 years old this year. Jasmine on April 1 and Missy on June 1.

Happy Spring!

Betty
